No sailing experience required, these gulets have a professional captain and chef to look after you in style.

Turkey guletGulets are attractive wooden motorsailers, contemporary versions of the traditional Turkish coastal trader, and are ideal for 2-3 families or a group of friends who want a unique cruising holiday aboard a fully crewed yacht. We offer a small fleet of traditional yet specially designed Turkish Gulets from Gocek which sleep 12 to 18 guests. Every cabin has double or twin beds and is fitted with electric 220v sockets for hairdryers and shavers, air-conditioning, en-suite shower/WC with hot and cold water.

Full board is included (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and meals served onboard consist of a variety of fresh salads, fruits, grilled meat, occasional local fish and local specialities. Turkish gulets are also equipped with a large deep freeze, storing high quality meats and fish. Fruit and vegetables are bought fresh locally during the cruise. A bar is available at very reasonable prices.

Depending on your itinerary you will set off after breakfast and visit two different places before anchoring for the night either in a small village, a lively town or in a secluded bay. Meal times will depend upon cruising schedules and the wishes of all on board. Dinner on the aft deck is usually the highlight of the day; a long leisurely meal sitting under the stars listening to the water lapping at the hull of the Gulet.

As well as being splendid sailing vessels, these Turkish gulets are also excellent watersports platforms with a windsurfer and canoe, as well as snorkelling and fishing equipment on board for your pleasure. The rear deck is the lounge/dining area and at the front is the sundeck where you can relax with a long refreshing drink and a good book.

BLUE CRUISE CABIN CHARTER IN TURKEY (FETHIYE TO KAS ROUTE)

    Supplied by Cheryl, Nautilus Yachting

    Day 1

    Saturday 08 October 2022

Flew with easyJet from Gatwick (evening flight) and arrived at Dalaman Airport. Met by a taxi driver holding a name board and taken to Fethiye Marina. Transfer time was approximately 50 minutes.

Gulet embarkation time is after 16:00 and due to my late arrival (10 pm) the gulet had anchored in a little bay just outside of Fethiye Marina. I was collected by rib and taken to the gulet in James Bond style. The gulet was called “Babaveli 9” a Luxury Air-Conditioned gulet which has 6 double cabins. All cabins have their own en-suite.

Once onboard I was greeted by the captain, deckhands and cook. Met the other five couples and then had dinner.

    Day 2

    Sunday 09 October 2022

After breakfast we motored from Fethiye to Ölüdeniz where we had lunch and then spent the afternoon swimming, kayaking and canoeing. Later on we went ashore where there were plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. Ölüdeniz is a resort village and is known for the blue lagoon of Ölüdeniz Tabiat Park and the wide, white Belcekız Beach. Overlooking the village is Babadağ mountain from where paragliders take to the skies.

In the afternoon we motored to Gelemis (St Nicholas Church) and went ashore. There are plenty of restaurants and local shops to visit. After some sightseeing and shopping we spent the afternoon swimming and kayaking.

We anchored offshore at Gelemis for the evening and had dinner onboard.

    Day 3

    Monday 10 October 2022

We left Gelemis very early in the morning and motored to Kalkan where we had breakfast. In the afternoon we went ashore to Kalkan which has lots of tavernas and local shops. Definitely worth visiting to see the cobbled streets and picturesque harbour. In the afternoon we motored to Kas where we spent the evening anchored offshore. Before dinner we went ashore and visited one of the bars and enjoyed a couple of cocktails before returning to the gulet for dinner.

    Day 4

    Tuesday 11 October 2022

Once we had breakfast we made our way by motor and moored in Kas Harbour. Kas is well known for its shops, cafes and restaurants. Went ashore for a couple of hours to explore this beautiful resort. Once back onboard the gulet we had lunch whilst motoring to our next destination which was Kekova. When we arrived at Kekova we anchored offshore and swam in the crystal clear blue water and stayed here for the night.

We had a BBQ this evening and the food was cooked by the captain.

    Day 5

    Wednesday 12 October 2022

After breakfast we went ashore to Kekova and visited the Kale Fortress (25TL per person). Once you reach the top the views are breathtaking. You will find plenty of cafes and souvenir shops whilst making your way up to the Fortress. Later that afternoon we motored a short distance to find a secluded bay in Kekova where we spent the rest of the day and evening.

    Day 6

    Thursday 13 October 2022

Once we had breakfast we then made our way to the sunken city which is located in Kekova and is only accessible by boat. This is a very busy and popular tourist attraction.

Spent the afternoon swimming and snorkelling then later in the evening went ashore to one of the bars for a cocktail. Spent the evening anchored offshore at Kekova.

    Day 7

    Friday 14 October 2022

After breakfast we motored to a secluded bay where we went fishing, snorkelling and kayaking.

After lunch we then made our way from Kekova to Kas where we spent our last night.

    Day 8

    Saturday 15 October 2022

Had breakfast and disembarkation time is by 10 am. A water taxi collected me from the gulet at Kas and a taxi had been arranged to take me to Mr Dim’s in Gocek.

Mr Dim’s is a hotel where you can use the hotel facilities ie swimming pool etc for the day at a cost of 5 Euros per person.

A taxi then collected me from Mr Dim’s and took me directly to Dalaman Airport for my return flight home.

"First time visit for us to Turkey and charter. We were thrilled from start to finish, endless coves and places to eat plus everyone was extremely friendly. We'll be back again."

Sailing Qualifications

To skipper a bareboat charter or flotilla yacht, you need to hold a practical sailing certificate equivalent to RYA Day Skipper Practical qualification or RYA International Certificate of Competence (ICC). For charters in Greece, you must now have the ICC certificate. You must also be assisted by at least one competent crew member over the age of 18.

The port authorities in Greece are now insisting on one of the following practical certificates: RYA ICC (International Certificate of Competence), RYA Coastal, RYA Yachtmaster, ASA IPC (International Proficiency Certificate) or the IYT (International Yacht Training) Passport. If you hold an RYA Day Skipper or ASA104 it will no longer be accepted and you need to obtain either an ICC or IPC from the corresponding issuing body (RYA or ASA). If your RYA Coastal/Yachtmaster or ASA105/106 certificate is more than 12 years old and does not have a photo ID, then we would also strongly advise applying for an ICC or IPC. If you are a member of the RYA or ASA, you may qualify for a discount or free certificate, otherwise, you will have to pay. The approximate cost is £50. Please use this link - RYA application for the ICC or ASA application for the IPC.

For charters in Croatia, Malta and the Canaries, at least one member of the crew or the skipper will also need a VHF licence.

RYA qualifications can be obtained by RYA sailing schools in the UK or alternatively choose from one of our overseas centres in Gibraltar, Greece or Turkey.

For Seychelles, the local authorities require an ICC for the skipper of a bareboat or flotilla yacht charter.

For Caribbean and Tropical charters, formal qualifications are not compulsory, however, you should be Day Skipper standard and be assisted by at least one competent crew. A brief sailing resume should be provided to outline your experience.

If you don't hold the relevant qualifications then why not add a skipper?
