Suggested 1 week sailing itinerary in Belize
DAY 1 : Robert's Grove Marina, Placencia
Embark at Robert's Grove Marina in Placencia. Spend the afternoon provisioning your boat and exploring this popular resort peninsula.
DAY 2 : Whipray Caye
After an easy two hour sail you will reach Whipray Caye for fantastic snorkelling on the reef and world class fishing. This island is known as 'paradise surrounded by fish'. If fishing is your thing, then head to Whipray Cay Fishing Lodge where you can do some fly fishing in the best salt water flats in the world!
DAY 3 : South Water Caye
Navigate along the reef to South Water Caye, keeping a careful eye out for coral patches. Some are worth a quick stop for a closer look with mask and snorkel. South Water Caye is an idyllic island right on the reef with palm fringed beaches and fantastic snorkelling. Make a reservation in advance and dine at Blue Marlin Lodge or Pelican Beach Resort.
DAY 4 : Coco Plum Caye
A small number of moorings are available here. Snorkel with barracudas, eagle rays and starfish, kayak through the mangroves and explore underwater caves. Keen divers can also join organised dives from here to the Atolls or Blue Hole. Take a walk through the ocean to the nearby private island of Thatch Caye.
DAY 5 : Lagoon Caye
Today head back down south to Lagoon Caye, a private ring shaped island. Here you can kayak across the deep blue lagoon.
DAY 6 : Hatchet Caye
A tiny island but a client favourite! An abundance of watersports to chose from as well as a diveshop and restaurant.
DAY 7 : Lark Caye
Stop off at Ranguana Caye for a real desert island feel and enjoy some food and cocktails at the beach bar. Sail onwards to Lark Caye, an undeveloped island where you can swim in the natural pool and stroll along private beaches.
DAY 8 : Robert's Grove Marina, Placencia
A short sail brings you back to the base at Placencia.
